This programme has been developed in response to a growing need for effective low intensity interventions in primary mental health care and is underpinned by a philosophy of person-centred care; it aims to promote the development and enhancement of primary mental health care by providing an advanced level learning environment; students develop a critical and reflexive approach to working and learning grounded in evidence-based practice; the programme aims to equip primary health care workers with the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes to work directly with clients by offering low intensity psychological therapies and to work as part of the wider primary care practice team.
