This programme aims to offer students an insight into the distinctive world of museums and heritage in a non-vocational manner, whilst setting it firmly within the academic context of a mainstream history degree; it forms an excellent 1st step towards a museum or heritage career; while lectures and seminars play and important part in teaching and learning, many modules are based largely on practical work using original sources and are assessed through coursework alone; the underlying aim is the development of students as increasingly independent learners.
