The course focuses on material knowledge, techniques and processes in wood, metal, ceramics and plastics across disciplines such as jewellery, furniture, sculpture, lighting, batch production and site specific work; a broad approach is encouraged within fine art, design and craft contexts; the course is workshop-based, with open access to specialised workshops; from year 2 students specialise in 2 materials; professional work placements are tailored to support students’ individual interests but also include opportunities for work experience with leading makers, artists and design practices and an integrated programme of professional and business practice; this course provides the option to graduate after 3 years with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) degree.
