This course prepares students to become chartered professional engineers, working at the highest levels in the industry; as well as its technological element, the course develops leadership and teamwork skills with an environmental perspective and in the context of a sustainable society; students participate in various field courses ranging from geological studies to surveying; groups of students undertake integrating design projects involving major planning, design, construction and laboratory testing; students with no previous industrial experience are encouraged to spend their 3rd year working in industry, either in the UK or elsewhere in Europe.
