This is a very practical course that explores a variety of animation techniques; students look at how meaning is constructed through the moving image and learn how to communicate their ideas through animated sequences; the techniques students learn include: 2-dimensional drawn animation; 3-dimensional model animation; 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional computer animation; non-linear digital editing; animation for the web; digital special effects; digital compositing; the course also includes modules on career development; the final year project enables students to produce a substantial piece of animation suitable for including in a show reel for potential employers.
