This course is a broad-based, highly practical programme designed to give the student the creative and technical expertise needed for independent creative practice or employment in the creative industries; the student learns advanced skills in a wide range of image-making methods from traditional painting, printmaking and drawing to 3-dimensional modeling and digital imaging; from the outset, the student’s options are not limited to 1 specialist area; this means that the student has time to consider how best to channel their creativity: they may decide to focus on drawing, painting or printmaking or they may wish to apply their creative skills and ideas to more design-based outcomes such as graphic communication or illustration; there are also opportunities to create images digitally or by working in 3-dimensions.
