Students spend 3 days a week in a training school in the Plymouth area, and much of the instruction is school-based; this includes activities directed by the college, web-based and other distance learning materials, collaborative teaching sessions and workshops taught within the school context; students are assigned an experienced school-based mentor to support their development throughout the course; placements take place in foundation stages 1 and 2 as well as within key stage 1; students also spend time each week in the primary centre, working alongside trainees on the Primary BEd(Hons) degree.
