Students require a practice placement with a counselling agency in order to gain 100 hours of supervised practise; the core theoretical model for the advanced diploma is person-centred; teaching sessions combine tutor-led input with student-led presentations, personal development groups, supervision, professional practise, advanced counselling skills practise and participation in experiential workshops; the tutor team is led by practising accredited counsellors who work within private, corporate and agency settings; the course includes 9 Saturday sessions and a residential weekend which is compulsory (additional cost approx £150 payable in November).
