Digital information has become a self-evident part of nearly all of our daily activities. We communicate via social media, we write blogs, we play online games, and we digitally watch series and movies. In the Bachelor’s program in Online Culture: Art, Media and Society you will study the interplay of art, media, language, and culture in our global society. Program outline In the first year, you will become acquainted with different theories about culture in courses such as Digital culture and society and Discourse and Media theory. You will learn how to scientifically analyze and interpret cultural expressions. In the second and third year, you will choose one of our contemporary specialization majors: In the major Digital Media, you will study what digital media are all about and how they work, and you will discover how digitization has created new cultural products, art forms, and new ways to experience the world. In the major Art in the Public Sphere, you will study expressions in culture and art in the international and societal context in which they emerge. In the major Global Communication, you will study the consequences of digitization and globalization as influenced by technological, economic, political and cultural developments.
