This course develops technical and creative skills and provide a sound practical background for those who intend to work in the new media industry, for example in interactive media, film and animation, web design, computer games design or 3-dimensional modelling; the course develops an understanding of the media and is intended to provide a mature and industry orientated approach to the subject, the core of which is the specialist pathway sessions; in these, students specialise in their chosen subject area and develop working practice to a professional standard, including skills in research, communication and problem solving; the emphasis is on both conceptual and technical skills; besides taught sessions, students will work on numerous live projects and gain experience through work placements.
