This programme aimed at those who want to study the place of photography in the art world and pursue a career in the varied professions in the private and public sphere in this field; the MA taps into developments in the field and looks at the various ways in which photographic images, from fashion spreads to monumental art works, to Victorian cartes-de-visites, are establishing a significant place in public and private collections, museums, galleries and the booming publishing business.Semester 1: 19th century photography; 20th century photography; Contemporary photography; research methodology. Semester 2: the photography industry and network; critical approaches to photography; a choice from: global photography now, artists’ film & video art, managing a contemporary art practice; professional practice.Semester 3: dissertation.
