The outdoor pursuits management modules consider the theoretical aspects of outdoor pursuit provision and develops student practical skills in a range of outdoor pursuits; the benefits of participation, access and conservation issues, safety requirements, qualifications in outdoor pursuits, and organisational requirements for expeditions, are all covered in this suite of modules; the course considers a range of leisure activities and how these meet the needs of increasing numbers of participants; the specialised management skills required will be developed at degree level; students have the opportunity to study consumer studies, communication and financial and business management through case studies and on-site visits, which explore a variety of sport and recreation pursuits.
