The aim of the cluster is to target activities that will maximise intellectual excellence in studies of coastal morphogenesis, development and sea-level process research, surface weathering, peatland studies, past climate and environmental change investigations, dating the past, geographical information studies and geoforensic studies; therefore the cluster welcomes postgraduate interest in the following areas where cluster members have an international reputation: Natural stone weathering; tropical environments; semi-arid landforms development; climate change and soil erosion; peatlands and terrestrial carbon sinks; gravel dominated barrier coasts; north west european little ice age coastal dunes; coastal storms; forensic geosciences; geostatistics; past climate and environmental change.
