Students gain an understanding of the practices and processes of broadcast media; they become able to produce news ‘packages’ enabling them to record and edit material for both radio and television; they receive voice training to improve their news-reading abilities and broaden their knowledge through option modules in subjects such as modern languages, politics and social theory; in addition to the professional placements, all students are offered the opportunity to gain valuable experience of live, on-site broadcasting and producing online news output as well as writing for a student publication produced within the University.

Location

Nottingham Law School is located in Nottingham city. Teaching on most of our courses takes place in the Chaucer Building. Some undergraduate modules are taught in the Newton building and we often hold open events and guest lectures in this building which is located at the heart of the City site. Our practitioner courses can be held in-house (on clients' premises), or in London and in venues throughout the UK, dependent on client requirements. Many of our practitioner courses are held on our City site.


Nottingham Trent University is centrally located in England and benefits from excellent national and international transport links.


At the heart of the UK, Nottingham is well served by the motorway network. The M1 passes close to the west of the city, the A42/M42 link to the south-west of the city and the A1 (M) to the east of the county. Nottingham East Midlands Airport is only 30 minutes from the city centre, offering national and international flights. Getting to Nottingham from the airport is easy and fast by train, car or the Skylink Express bus service.


There are frequent rail services from most UK cities including a high speed train every 30 minutes connecting Nottingham to the capital in less than two hours.
