Students on the programme will engage with principles and theories of human resource management and development; this includes frameworks for reviewing, reflecting, analysing and critiquing existing individual and organisational practices as well as providing knowledge and skills, enabling enhanced and more appropriate practices to be developed; developing students as managers to maximise the performance of the organisations, whilst recognising people as the most important organisational resource, underpins the philosophy; students will need to complete 10 taught modules (amounting to 120 postgraduate credits) and a business-related Masters dissertation (worth 60 postgraduate credits) within the two years of study; students who do not wish to study up to Masters level may opt for a postgraduate diploma in their 2nd year by completing a business-focused management report, and continue their studies at a later date to complete the Masters award; successful students on either pathway should gain graduate or Chartered Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD).
