Course provides doctors who practise or who intend to practice paediatrics in developing countries with instruction and training in management and control of disease in childhood; emphasis on endemic infectious diseases in tropical countries, epidemiology, clinical pathology and nutrition, integration of curative services with preventive and promotive aspects of child health; course develops research skills applicable to problems in clinical paediatrics and community child health; participants must undertake a period of research work which is usually carried out overseas in one of several tropical countries where LSTM has established clinical and research links; research project is submitted as dissertation.
