The Doctorate requires a substantial amount of research; however, it also takes into consideration the demands on an educational practitioner by dividing this research across a number of distinct but well-connected projects over the course of the programme; the outcomes of study represent a significant new contribution to a body of applied knowledge or practice; past students have demonstrated innovation in the application of knowledge to a stated occupational or professional area; work produced is presented at conferences and is of sufficient quality for submission to academic and professional journals.
