Interior design is a spatial art that explores, develops and realises spaces for the enhancement of our lives; the course aims to develop a range of appropriate skills of a vocational nature through lectures, seminars and project work that encourage imaginative solutions to spatial problems; project work is at the centre of the design process, synthesising theoretical, technical, spiritual and social criteria such that the holistic solution becomes more than the parts; the skills associated with the interior design course centre around, imagination/communication, researching and organising as well as the more obvious skills involving spatial manipulation and knowledge of materials, colour, construction and the environment.
