The programme offers a theoretical and practical framework for the understanding of and contribution to the history of art in a professional context; the course is guided by the principles of interdisciplinarity and thematic variety in the study of the history of art and experiential learning in the museum and art gallery; there are optional field visits available; students explore areas as diverse as painting, sculpture, installation, live art, digital media, design, photography, architecture and popular culture; the course also blends analysis of specific works of art with analyses of content, representation, interpretative theories and institutional practice.
