It provides you with a solid grounding in language test design, construction and evaluation, and in research design. This ensures that the testing and evaluation policies you create within your own contexts conform to international standards of validity and reliability. With a compulsory three-day orientation seminar in Lancaster to launch the course, five online modules, and a dissertation, it is ideal for part-time learning. It offers opportunities to base your coursework and dissertation on issues within your own educational contexts. The course is designed so that you do not have to leave your workplace to pursue your studies; after the three-day Orientation Seminar in Lancaster at the start, the entire programme is done online. Former Lancaster Language Testing students are now leading test development and research projects in many parts of the world, in Ministries of Education and Defence, curriculum development centres, and universities and other institutions of higher learning, designing and evaluating tests of general language ability and languages for specific purposes.
