Modular in structure; encourages experimental approach to working with a wide range of materials and techniques (traditional and non-traditional); emphasis placed initially on generating an understanding of self-expression as well as a culture of self reflection and experimentation; contextual studies in the form of lectures and seminars is essential in building a student’s understanding, perception and questioning of current thinking in fine and applied arts; through visual studies, which encompasses a wide range of approaches to drawing, students will underpin their study with an ability to communicate, think through ideas and generate new and exciting directions in their work.
