 United Kingdom

Study mode Start date Duration
Full-time Sep calendar years: 1
The programme aims to introduce advanced students from interdisciplinary backgrounds to critical writing and debate as generative practices bringing new insights to artworks and objects of design, as well as their methodologies and practices; it attempts to identify, explore and create methods of engagement with visual and material culture that expand our understandings of those artifacts and the ways in which they were made; in so doing, the programme tries to move beyond what can be achieved by traditional or conventional theorising; alternative modes of enquiry, analysis and debate are harnessed and fostered, in order to appositely reflect the creative components of the artworks selected for study.
