Visual and cultural studies component is mandatory throughout the course, offering specialisation in design history in the third year during which students must take a course in business studies; industrial placement is available.Year 1: General course intended to be one of breadth of study; includes core drawing studies; printmaking; painting; sculpture; tapestry; visual and cultural studies; 3 design subjects may be selected including 1 arts specialist subject and 1 from graphic design, illustration, film/television, photography, animation.Year 2: Awareness and understanding of the range, both contemporary and historical, of materials, processes and techniques in fashion designing; pattern cutting; collaborative projects.Year 3: Development of design and technical ability; projects; understanding of cloth and form.Year 4: Final year collections; individual study and research; annual fashion show.
