Students learn both 2D and 3D design skills; as well as how to use physical and virtual tools to create innovative product designs; students also learn the theory and analysis that underpin successful product design work; and gain an understanding of the engineering and ergonomic requirements for successful designs; during the third year of the course there is the opportunity to work on collaborative projects with industry and to apply for an industrial placement (internship) during the latter part of the year; in the final year students work on substantial design projects that allows them to integrate their knowledge and skills.
