As pressures on the natural environment intensify, there is a growing need for skilled professionals in the areas of biodiversity conservation and environmental management; increasingly, such professionals need to possess a wide range of skills, including biodiversity assessment, site survey, site management, environmental monitoring, spatial information systems and information technology, as well as knowledge of relevant ecological principles and regulatory frameworks; they must also be able communicate effectively at all levels with a range of different stakeholders, from government agencies and professional bodies to local interest groups and members of the public; this course is designed to equip both recent graduates and experienced practitioners with these skills.
