In 2014, the horsemeat scandal marked the beginning of stricter factory inspections and a more food-conscious consumer. Today, manufacturers of consumables and foodstuffs around the world recognise that, to stay in business, transparency about the way their products are processed has become a necessity. As an upcoming student of Process & Food Technology (PFT) at The Hague University of Applied Sciences (THUAS) you too will appreciate this increase in consumers’ social awareness, because it will encourage you to innovate existing manufacturing processes, thus underscoring a sustainable and resourceful food and chemical industry.
