Northeastern University

International students are recommended to apply through the Global Pathways program. The program helps students boost their English language skills and academic knowledge before enrolling in their program of choice. 

Why Global Pathways?

• Application support: you will be guided through the application process to a pathway program or directly to a Northeastern University master’s degree or graduate certificate.
• Multiple start dates: three start dates throughout the year allowing you to choose a time that perfectly fits your study plan.
• University-level teaching: all pathway programs are taught by the same exceptional lecturers who teach Northeastern’s full-time degrees. These teachers are industry professionals, scholars and mentors who bring valuable, real-world knowledge to your learning experience.
• Earn degree credits: As a pathway program student, you can earn credits which count toward your bachelor’s degree in Boston or your master’s degree in Seattle.
• Preparatory English: English classes are included in a pathway program.

Entry requirements  

Undergraduate degree direct entry:

·             A high school diploma or equivalent 

·             TOEFL iBT 92/ IELTS 6.5 / PTE 62

·             Standardized Tests: applicants are encouraged to submit one of the following: AP exam results, a full IB diploma, three higher level IB exam scores, or the results from nationally or regionally accredited exams.

·             U.S students are required to submit SAT or ACT (with writing) score results.

·             Portfolios are required for some programmes

Undergraduate pathway program

·             A high school diploma or equivalent

·             TOEFL iBT 61/ Kaplan iBT 61 / IELTS 5.5 (with no less than 5.0 in any skill) 

Graduate programmes

·             A bachelor’s degree or equivalent

·             TOEFL iBT 78 / Kaplan iBT 78 / IELTS 6.5 

·             GMAT or GRE tests might be required for some programmes

Graduate pathway program

·             A bachelor’s degree or equivalent

·             TOEFL iBT 55 / Kaplan iBT 55 / IELTS 5.5 (with no less than 5.0 in any skill) / PTE 42

Bachelor’s completion (top-up) degree

·             At least 50 university credits

·             TOEFL iBT 79 / Kaplan iBT 79 / IELTS 6.5 / PTE 53
