Multidisciplinary in scope, this MA aims to give a deep understanding of the creation and impact of public policy across institutions at local, national, regional and global levels.
You will benefit from distinctive synergies arising from a school specialising in both economics and politics. The MA offers strong training coupled with the ability to specialise in pathways including welfare social policy, sustainable environments, international development and emerging markets, security and rights) or to study flexibly across them. You can also undertake an extended project linked to a work placement.
The programme is designed to appeal to those wishing to follow careers in the public service or in NGOs, including international agencies. The teaching staff are specialists in their fields and will bring the results of their own cutting-edge research to the programme, including work that has been carried out for governments and international agencies. One of the distinctive features of our programme is the synergies that arise from involvement in a School that specialises in both Economics and Politics.
Transferable skills: This programme gives you an excellent understanding of the theories and applications of public policy. Our theoretical lectures give examples of practical application. They are mostly given by UK Government analysts, with wider international applicability.
