Year 1: Semester A: all students take the same 4 modules gaining a sound foundation in core areas of computing: computation, data, programming and e-media; semester B: students choose between the computer science and information technology routes; computer Science modules: programming, network systems, computer architecture, and a further option. Year 2: Students from both routes take 3 core double modules; if students are taking the computer science route, 2 of these core double modules are in further programming, and operating systems and networks; the 3rd core double module is a professional development exercise, which allows students to put their knowledge and skills into a professional context; in addition students choose a 4th double module from a list of options, allowing you to pursue your own particular interests. Final Year: Students undertake a 2 module project, study a double module in artificial intelligence and robotics, a further module in a specialist area and take a module in professional issues.
