Dance and movement studies students develop an understanding of dance as an art form; modules offer the opportunity to develop the use of the body through movement by a careful understanding of how it is used in an expressive and creative art form in a modern and post modern context; explore a range of dance styles, techniques and approaches to choreography; during the final year, there is an opportunity to develop skill and creativity in the application of dance in performance, community and therapeutic contexts; healing arts students are introduced to the psychological, sociological, physical and historical background to the use of the creative arts in healing; course aims to enhance educational development and communication skills through the exploration of personal creativity and psychological awareness.
