Entry requirements

There are three routes into OSU degree programs: 

  • Direct Entry: For students who meet the academic and language requirements set by the university
  • Pathway Programs: For students who want or need extra language or academic preparation before entering their degree program
  • English language programs: For students who meet the academic requirements but want or need extra language preparation before entering/applying for a degree program


Entry requirements for direct entry:

  • 3.0 GPA overall from four-year undergraduate or professional degree and all work completed thereafter or
  • A 4-year undergraduate degree and a two-year (45 quarter credits) graduate degree with an overall GPA of 3.0 on most recent graduate degree or
  • A completed bachelor’s degree of at least three years duration in a country that is a signatory of the Bologna Declaration with an overall GPA of 3.0, plus all subsequent graded course work or
  • A bachelor’s degree of at least three years duration and a two-year (45 quarter credits) graduate degree with an overall GPA of 3.0 on most recent graduate degree
  • Russian students: 4 year Bachelors degree/Diplom bakalavra with an average of '4' (Khorosho/Good) on a 5 point scale (a 'B' Average)
  • English Language Requirements: TOEFL iBT 80 (PBT 550) (minimum 18 subscores) or • IELTS 6.5 
  • GMAT 500 with minimum 20th percentile in verbal, quantitative and integrated reasoning, and minimum analytical writing score of 4 or
  •  GRE total score of 304 with verbal and quantitative scores in at least the 30th percentile and an analytical writing score of 3.5


Entry Requirements for 2-Term Accelerated Pathway Spring (March 27, 2017)

  • Undergraduate degree in any major with 3.0 GPA overall or in final 2 years of study
  • Russian students: 4 year Bachelors degree/Diplom bakalavra 
  • Language Requirements: TOEFL iBT 80 (PBT not accepted) or IELTS 6.5 (5.5 subscores)
  • GMAT 500 with minimum 20th percentile in verbal, quantitative and integrated reasoning, and minimum analytical writing score of 4 or
  • GRE total score of 304 with verbal and quantitative scores in at least the 30th percentile and an analytical writing score of 3.5
  • No work experience required


Entry requirements for 3-Term Standard Pathway

  • Undergraduate degree in any major with a 2.75 GPA or equivalent overall and a minimum of 2.75 GPA in the final year of study
  • Russian students: 4 year Bachelors degree/Diplom bakalavra 
  • Language Requirements: TOEFL iBT 70 (16 subscores) (PBT 525) or IELTS 6.0 (5.5 subscores)
  • No work experience required
