Students take 8 compulsory modules (80 credits); 20 credits of optional modules; and complete a research project, often with an environment establishment, leading to a thesis (80 credits); compulsory modules typically include: Environment and habitat assessment field class; ecological survey techniques; sustainable development and environmental change; the environment business; environmental assessment: land and water resources; foundations of environmental law and policy; project planning; and quantitative techniques, experimental design and data analysis; optional modules may include: geographical information systems and remote sensing; contaminated land; hydroecology; ecosystem management; trees: growth, management and environmental impacts; environmental systems modelling; tropical environments, ecology and land use.
