The ANU Diploma of Computing is designed for students who are interested in studying a Bachelor of Information Technology at ANU. The diploma will provide you with a sound grounding in all the basic requirements for success in a degree in information technology including maths, information systems and computer science.

The Diploma of Computing is available to Australian and international applicants.
Upon successful completion of the ANU Diploma of Computing with no more than one fail or incomplete grade, students will be eligible to enter the second year of the Bachelor of Information Technology at ANU.
If students do not achieve the required results they will need to begin at Year One and may apply for credit for courses undertaken in their Diploma.
All ANU diplomas are recognised Australian tertiary qualifications and are therefore nationally and internationally recognised and are valid to use to apply for entry to other institutions.
Modules
Students will complete 2 semesters of 18 weeks each, and will be required to complete 48 units of study. The following are the compulsory courses:

- ANUC1710 - Web Development and Design
- ANUC1110 - Introduction to Software Systems
- ANUC2400 - Relational Databases
- ANUC1101 - Professional Communication
- ANUC1001 - Business Information Systems
- ANUC1003 - Algebra and Calculus Methods
- ANUC1005 - Discrete Mathematical Models
Once you have met the program requirements of your degree, you may have enough electives to complete an additional elective major, minor or specialisation.
Class sizes are kept around 20 students which maximises your contact with teaching staff.
Entry requirements
IELTS - 6.0 overall with minimum 5.5 in each band
TOEFL (IBT) - overall 68 (writing no less than 18)
Certificate of Complete Education with GPA of 4.5 and Unified State Examination Certificate.
Location
ANU is located in Acton on the north side of Lake Burley Griffin, just west of the city centre.
Arriving by plane:
ANU is a 15 minute drive from Canberra Airport. An Airport Express bus to and from the city operates regularly throughout the day. Taxis are available at all times of the day.
Arriving by train or coach:
Canberra has a direct rail service from Sydney and a combined rail and bus service from Melbourne. Coaches arrive in the city centre, a short taxi journey from ANU.
