This programme aims to provide the means to become a professional chartered engineer; first year study covers core mechanical, electrical and materials subjects; the second year continues with mechanical and electrical topics and the third year continues at an advanced level; students also start a 2-year individual project in which they investigate a mechanical, electrical, design or materials topic and also undertake a group project working alongside single-discipline electrical engineering students; in the fourth year work continues on the individual project and a group mechanical design project working alongside single-discipline mechanical engineering students.
