The zoology course concentrates studies in the field of animal biology from unicellular to most complex multi-cellular animals; it includes areas such as wildlife conservation, ecology, animal behaviour, molecular biology, genetics and physiology; Third World development looks at patterns of political, socio-economic and environmental change in less developed countries; students explore major themes, such as the development gap between rich and poor countries, social justice, women's rights, globalisation, democratisation and environmental impacts; using a range of modern and historical materials, students also consider areas such as economics, sociology, history and geography.
