The course is vocationally oriented to develop an understanding of children and young people's welfare needs, rights and services; it is rooted in social sciences, particularly social policy, sociology, and psychology; people interested in working with children and young people in community practice settings (eg policing and social services) are interested in this course; it provides a solid foundation for postgraduate study in youth and community work; social work; education and social research.
