This course allows students to pursue a writing project in their chosen literary form supported by a range of specialist tutors, a peer critiquing process in twice weekly workshops, and termly online conferences via the University’s Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). A number of professional writers visit the course throughout the academic year, giving talks in their specialist genres, hosting workshops to stimulate new work or providing insight and advice in areas of prose fiction, poetry, creative non-fiction and other literary forms. We also offer structured advice on the publishing industry, inviting leading agents and publishers to visit the course and advise students.

Location

The University is located only three miles (five kilometres) outside the historic city of Lancaster, and the city is just half an hour south of the world famous national parks of the Lake District. Major cities such as Liverpool, Manchester, Edinburgh and London are easy to reach.
