This course provides students with the opportunity to develop skills essential for working in this sector, using theories and processes of project and operational management; they learn about the planning, design, implementation and evaluation of a variety of events, as well as gaining a comprehensive overview of the discipline of marketing and the migration towards the integrated management of the marketing communications aspect of the marketing mix; all aspects of marketing communications are discussed as part of the course to enable students to prepare an integrated events marketing communications plan; students receive practical and specific training delivered by research-active and industry-experienced staff such as Dr Miguel Moital and Dr Julie Whitfield, including an optional work placement as well as organising and evaluating students' own events as part of the course; students also develop appropriate analytical and managerial competencies, which enable them to respond to strategic issues, as well as developing your capacity to stimulate change in response to current and future developments.
