This flexible award gives students the necessary knowledge, skills and understanding to progress to an undergraduate degree course or to professional training; the programme includes support to develop learning and study skills and advice on how to apply for a degree; it also provides an opportunity to explore different subject areas before students decide on a particular degree; many students begin with the approaches to study module, but all modules fully integrate guidance on study skills with study of the subject; students whose 1st language is not English and who require English language support, should start with approaches to study with English language support; there are 4 pathways of study available, depending on the subject the student plans to progress to: Arts, humanities and social sciences; social work; nursing, midwifery and health policy-related studies; business studies; students must successfully complete modules to the value of 120 CATS points.

Location

Study in the heart of central London. Birkbeck is located in Bloomsbury, the traditional academic centre of London.
