This course examines the nature and use of speech and language; it covers how speech and language are structured and how they are processed by the brain; how humans develop speech and language and how this process fails in some children (eg in autism and dyslexia); how language is used and how it varies according to social and cultural factors; how language may become impaired in adulthood (eg in aphasia); psychology and the linguistic sciences form core elements of the course, which also has strong links with speech and language pathology and education.ModulesYear 1: Discovering psychology; introd
