This theoretically based programme aims to meet the needs of graduates and working professionals who want to examine current applications of psychoanalytic theory; it enables students to address current debates as they affect psychoanalytic theory and practice and to engage with contemporary cultural critiques; students are expected to demonstrate a commitment to the study of psychodynamic principle and its practices; the programme does not offer clinical training but does give students the opportunity to concentrate on their particular area of research interest which can include a clinical focus; it is also an appropriate preparation for practitioners and graduates intending to carry out doctoral research within the field.
