This programme investigates the concepts and principles of Logistics and how they are applied to organisations. Globalisation, the rise of new economies, and the lifting of many trading restrictions, mean that companies can now source and sell at a global level. Selling and sourcing products thousands of miles away brings about the need for tighter and more careful co-ordination of the movement of goods, intended to lead to higher customer satisfaction. Logistics deals with these issues and others, and helps create competitive advantage that not only spans the organisation but also vastly intricate global supply chains.Year 1: Organisational context of information management; business computing; information systems; introduction to personal develompent planning for knowledge and information management.Year 2: Group project; management information systems; principles and practice af mobile commerce; supply chain and logistics management; management and organisational behaviour.Year 3: Global logistics; warehousing and transport; procurement and inventory; commerce applications.
