University of Sheffield

Student life

Sheffield is one of the UK’s most popular places for students to go to university. The city is large enough to offer a great range of restaurants, shopping, theatre, cinemas, bars and culture; yet small enough to find your way around quickly and feel part of the community. Sheffield is the fourth largest city in England and just over two hours by train from London.

Students rate the University of Sheffield Students’ Union as the very best in the UK. With over 250 clubs and societies to choose from you’ll never be short of something to do.

Student facilities, including Library and Computing

  • Brand new £23-million Information Commons centre with 500 PCs, wireless access throughout, open 24/7.
