The course combines a lively, communicative approach to language learning with the study of contemporary French culture, politics, economics, and society; equal emphasis is given to the development of written, oral, aural and reading skills; the opportunity to spend a year abroad in a paid work placement or studying in France helps students gain a wider perspective of the world; German students become familiar with key aspects of modern day German culture, society, politics, economics and literature; they have the choice of entering at beginners, intermediate or advanced levels; spend a year or a semester in Germany or Austria in a work or study placement, which provides valuable experience and is a real advantage when searching the home or international job market.
